Has anyone seen any butterflies in the midwestern states? If so what colors were they?

I used to see hundreds of butterflies in my flower garden. This year I only saw one and it was white. Where have all the butterflies gone?

I remember lots of them from my youth, but hardly any now. I think they are very sensitive to pollution.
Reply:We in the Midwest have Monarch butterflies. They are sort of orange and black.
