Need help in Ohio Case where left scene of accident?
His insurance company will not get the car out of impound. He will have to show up to the police station with id and proof that he owns the car to get a release. They will not issue that release until he talks to the detective. Avoiding the situation is only going to cost him more money (for the daily impound charge) in the long run.
Reply:Wow.
Avoiding problems only makes things worse. I have no idea why people have never learned that. By avoiding the police, by abandoning his car, he has made his problem that much worse. If he doesn't confront his problem, he is likely going to be spending time in jail.
I had a friend who got in a fight, they other guy landed in the hospital and had to have eye surgery.
My friend insisted the fight was started by the other person and would not go to see the police. When they called him, he would get angry, state it wasn't his fault, and threaten the police if they try to come to his house.
So they did, with a swat team. They arrested him in the street for all his neighbors to see. He was in jail for 9 months before the trail came. Then was found guilty of starting the fight. He lost his job, his home, a year of his life in jail, and has to pay $25,000 to the victim. All he initially had to do was talk to the police and explain his side of the story.
Tell your friend to stop being a fool.
Reply:Impound fees are adding up, even if he doesn't claim the car.
