Why cant we understand that if the Iraqis have started to arrive that means the end of the war is very near.Because these fellows were American helpers and they will be surely killed if they are left behind in Iraq.So they are being adjusted here.

Reply:Per the "as long as they come here legally" -- who makes said laws? It does seem unfair that the USA isn't taking in at least as many refugees from Iraq as we're expecting their neighboring countries to handle.



ETA--BTW, Bush agreeing to take in 7000 refugees is one of the first things he's done of which I *approve* in a long time. Mind you, that's 7000 out of 2 to 4 million, and we should also probably be lending a hand to Syria and Jordan, which have taken the brunt of their mass exodus. But it's definitely a start.
