We are having a destination wedding in Florida on the beach. We are planning it from three states away. However, I am totally stumped on ahwt sort of scene to have on the beach. I have seen flower arches and things, but they look sort of out of place on the middle of the beach. I was thinking maybe some sort of large cross or something, or flowers?? I am totally stumped on what to set-up! Any ideas on how I could go about doing this of what would look nice on the beach for us to stnad in front of for our ceremony. THANKS!
Wedding Background??/ Ideas!!!?
I would think if you're going through all the trouble to have your wedding on a beach for the scenery, then use the beach as your background. Sometimes you can have too much decoration.
Reply:After doing a destination wedding, my only suggestion to you is hire a wedding planner - in the venues area. She'll be your best friend during the planning.
She'll not only know what you can and can't do in certian areas of the beach, but she'll be able to arrange for all the permits, and everything you'll need to get your wedding off with out a hitch.
Don't worry, you'll still have to do some decision making, but she'll do most of the stressful things that would turn most women into Bridezilla!
My wedding went off with no problems, I wasn't a Bridezilla either. We were both so relaxed and calm, that we went hiking all day before the wedding.
Good luck, and Congratulations!
Reply:One nice thing about the beach is that the scenery has already been planned out by good old Mother Nature! I mean, you'll be getting married with the Atlantic Ocean as your backdrop- do you really need any other decorations? If anything I think an arch or cross or whatever would detract from the ocean which is-after you, of course- the star of the wedding. Congrats, and good luck!
P.S. Anything you put there (flowers, etc.) will end up blowing away, anyway- that's the ocean breeze for you.
Reply:a cross??thats werid on a beach....i would do a form of a covering over the officiant like in the movie in her shoes at the wedding in the end where the bridal party (4 ppl) holds what looks like tiki torches without the torch with a thin piece of white fabric over the couple
Reply:I always thought that if we had a beach/destination wedding, I would find a sand sculptor and have them create something in the sand; I never had anything specific in mind, I just thought it would be beautiful in pictures!
Reply:I like the flower arches or shepards hooks with flower baskets or ribbons hanging from them. You are on the beach, the scenery will be beautiful. You just need a little something to "mark" the spot.
Reply:You could always use tiki torches.
Another option is to have the arch but not put flowers on it. You could put toole, seashells, or some greenry on it.
Reply:A heart made out of shells on the sand..... you could stand inside the heart??? or something along those lines
Reply:you can have the deck chairs lined up for the guests to sit
the flower girl has a little sand bucket instead of a basket
i think the flower arch would look lovely.
you could have a long flowy dress with flowers in your hair that match the arch.
i don't like the sand sculpture idea much.
barbecue on the beach
lantern lights with candles in them
