My question to all Muslims is this ... How or why do the Sunis and Shiites not believe that Israel should have the right to "exist" that was granted to them by the UN and world community in 1948?
It is not an oil rich, or even resource rich land ... And Arabic peoples possess a wide continent around it that is both oil and resource rich ... I understand well the historic claims put forth on both sides of this issue ...and should add that historically Palestinian peoples were also displaced in Jordan- and were never given a right to found an autonomous nation in it's midst...
I should add that I am a huge admirer of Arabic culture- especially sufism ... I love Jalaluddin Rhumi, Kahlil Gibran etc ... historically there was a time that Arabic culture was the "flower" of this world...
To Muslims, regarding the existence of the State of Israel?
As a Muslim, if I had the power, I would move all the Muslims living in or near Israel. Simply to end all of this violence. I, like so many Muslims, have no hatred burning in my heart. The other day on the news, I saw an old Jewish woman who had lost her family when one of the rockets hit their house. Imagine being that old and watching your own children die. My heart went out to her.
However, it's an entirely different scenario when you yourself are living in such extreme conditions. Both sides believe that they have more rights. It's not about who is right or wrong. It is about defending what you believe in, no matter the cost.
What I said above has nothing to do with Hezbollah or the Israel government. I have equal dislike for both of them. Israel continues to hurt innocents simply to exact their revenge. And Hezbollah doesn't seem to care that their actions are costing so many Muslims their lives. And the situation is simply escalating.
Reply:I have wondered this question myself
their are about 3 million Arabs in the west bank and about 1 billion Muslims in the world.
how difficult would it be (especially if Israel would pay) to move these people to other Muslim nations?
that would seem to end the conflict right their.
Reply:I would like to answer this question not as a muslim, christian, jew ...but as a human being.
If you study the history of the region you will find that conflict in one form or the other has been endemic between muslims, christians and jews. There were many Jewish tribes living in the Arabian Peninsula but were all pushed out by muslims. Historically Jews were living in the land much before Islam was even founded.
Having said that, at the level of countries and cultures you really cannot go back into history to undo the earlier human migrations and occupations as that will open a pandora's box.
I feel that Muslims should first of all, shed the baggage of history %26amp; try to look forward rather than regressing back. They should learn to be be practical and accept the existence and at least learn to tolerate the state of Israel. Israel also needs to give enough land and coastline to the Palestanians to enable it to create a VIABLE and sustainable state.
In other words it has to be a give and take from both sides.
Incidentally Sufism has its roots in India.
Reply:Sure, but the fact is they dont like to be with palestinians.the palestinians suffer cause of israel..dont believe me?ASK them!!
Reply:It is not Muslims; it is "politics." There are other countries in the world doing same thing , and there do not live Muslims.
