I am traveling in Argentina, and have been invited to someone's house for a BBQ with their family. Is it appropriate for me to bring wine, a dessert or flowers like it is in the United States? Is there something else that is traditioanl to take with? Help!
Should I bring a gift or wine for dinner at someone's home in Argentina?
I think wine is appropriate in ANY culture, assuming the hosts drink wine! Can you find that out? And of course it should be a strong red to go with beef or barbequed pork.
Reply:Yes wine is acceptable,so are roses for your hostess. If you are toasted it's required you return the toast as well. Always face your hosts and raise your glass when offering the toast. Don't forget to finish with "Salud"(Cheers).
DO NOT smack your lips.
DO NOT scrape the plate with utensils.
Hold your knife in right hand and fork in left.
When being introduced, use "sen~or " or "sen~ora" when meeting other guests.
Reply:it is in canada too!
Sure why not! Im sure they will love it and even if they dont its a nice gesture!
Good luck have a good dinner!

Reply:Wine is your best bet. However, you can also bring beer or a soft drink.
Reply:Hello, if you have been invited you should bring one (or two if you want) bottles of red wine, it is the best for asado, and it is a tradition to brign wine to asado...
Enjoy it
Reply:Red wine would be fine and is very common practice.
But it all depends really how well you know the person that invited you, and how formal or informal the invitation was.
If you just arrived in town and they want to give you sort of a reception it is likely that you are not expected to bring anything at all.
