Reply:dogwoods are not fussy at all. they will grow almost anywhere and anyway.
I have a friend who pruned her dogwood and used some of the pruned branches as stakes for another plant and that fall she had 2 new dogwoods which she had to move and transplant. They had happily rooted where they were plonked!!
